Self-Hosted AI & custom models
AI without loss of control: Run and fine-tune LibreChat on Azure or AWS, custom models like Gemma or Llama within your company.

Use generative AI while sensitive data remains in your own environment - in your own cloud tenant or on your own hardware: for companies with high data protection requirements, bound by professional secrecy and regulated industries, self-hosting is often the only way to deploy AI productively at all. It is more practical than many think.
Which problem does self-hosted AI solve?
Public cloud AI always means that your inputs leave the company. For many use cases, this is acceptable with data processing agreements and correct configuration - for some, it is not. Patient data, client data, engineering documents, M&A files: where information leakage would pose an existential risk, an AI environment under your own control is required.
Self-hosting does not mean missing out: for most business tasks - summarising, drafting, searching your own documents - modern open models deliver high-level results.
What NMS provides
- LibreChat as a central interface: A chat environment for the entire workforce, operated in your Azure or AWS environment - logging in via your Microsoft 365 account, including rights and cost control. Optionally connected to multiple models at the same time.
- Custom models within the company: Open models such as Gemma or Llama, sized for your workload - in your cloud subscription or on on-premises hardware, embedded into your hybrid infrastructure.
- Integration of your own data: Your documents, wikis and storage locations become searchable and citable - the AI answers with source citations from your existing data instead of the internet.
- Fine-tuning and training: Where standard models are not enough, we adapt them to your terminology and tasks - including training your team for ongoing operations.
Interface, models, your own data and fine-tuning: together, they form an AI environment under your control, hosted in your own cloud tenant or on your own hardware.
How NMS operates
Requirements analysis: Which data, which tasks, which level of protection? The architecture follows from this - from a pure EU cloud solution to an environment without any external connection.
Setup and hardening: Infrastructure, models and interface are set up, secured and integrated into your monitoring. Security according to ISO 27001 standard comes as standard at NMS.
Tailored operations: Whether your team operates it itself or NMS takes over as a Managed Service - both are possible, including a hybrid model.
Who is this suitable for?
For companies with sensitive data (healthcare, legal, finance, research and development), for everyone who wants to make AI costs predictable, and for anyone who finds reliance on single AI providers strategically too risky. A short requirements analysis shows whether this path makes financial sense for you - often the answer is a hybrid of public cloud AI for non-critical matters and self-hosting for the sensitive core.
What is LibreChat and why does NMS rely on it?
LibreChat is an open-source chat interface for AI models that you operate in your own environment. The advantage: a unified, familiar interface for staff, free choice of models in the background and full control over data, rights and costs - with no vendor lock-in.
Are self-hosted models worse than ChatGPT or Claude?
The largest top-tier models do not run locally. However, for typical business tasks - drafting texts, summarising, searching internal documents - current open models deliver very good results. The key is selecting the right model for the job; where more is needed, we combine them in a controlled manner with public cloud models.
Does self-hosted AI run in the cloud or in your own data centre?
Both are possible. The most common path is using your own Azure or AWS subscription in an EU region: full control with flexible scaling. For the highest requirements, we also run models entirely on on-premises hardware - e.g. connected to our Azure data centre concept.
Is self-hosted AI DSGVO/GDPR-compliant?
Self-hosting is the most privacy-friendly operating model: inputs and documents remain in your environment, with no transfer to third parties. Compliance then depends on proper configuration and processes - which is precisely what setup by NMS ensures.
