Ratior GmbH: a business application for precious metal trading on Dynamics 365

For Ratior GmbH, NMS has developed a business application based on Microsoft Dynamics 365: it brings client data, fee calculation and the storage of the precious metal together in one digital process. An example of what custom development looks like at NMS: not an off-the-shelf project, but a solution aligned with the business model.

In use across industries

From consumer goods manufacturers to engineering firms: NMS supports companies of various sizes and sectors - with Managed Services, Modern Workplace, cloud infrastructure and AI solutions. Ratior: a cloud workplace and a Dynamics business application

Where things stood

Ratior GmbH, based in Walldorf, invests client funds in physical precious metals and stores them, insured, in a bonded warehouse in Switzerland. Shortly after being founded, the company needed a system that would handle client data, fee calculation and storage entirely digitally, and it needed it quickly. The calculations are the critical part: they depend on one another, and according to Ratior an error in a fee or in booking metal to a client storage account can lead to financial losses.

What NMS built

Two building blocks that work together: a modern workplace on Microsoft 365, with documents in SharePoint and communication through Teams and Outlook. Alongside it, a purpose-built business application based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for client data, fees and storage. NMS had already been the IT provider at the team's earlier company.

Outcome

In the video, recorded in January 2024, Ratior reports a working Dynamics system within a year, ready to onboard the first clients. The company works entirely in the cloud and from anywhere. And the modern workplace helped with hiring at a time when many new people were needed in a short period.

TSO: one provider for two offices and every IT topic

Where things stood

The Simpson Organization has offered financial investment products in commercial real estate in the south-eastern United States since 1988 and has been present in Germany since 2006, with offices in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. The company was looking for one provider able to cover every IT topic in house: processes, automation, integration.

What NMS does

In the video, recorded in September 2024, Stefanie Krug describes NMS looking after both German offices and every IT topic, from Microsoft to internet connectivity and telephony. Where other providers are involved, NMS takes on the interface. She calls this a "helicopter view": an overview of every system, device and interface. For her that includes carrying experience across from Frankfurt to Düsseldorf.

What TSO values

She describes the collaboration as fast, competent and flexible. And she highlights the direct route: picking up the phone and reaching someone straight away instead of an issue being passed on as a ticket.
