VoIP phone systems for modern communication
As outdated technologies such as ISDN are no longer up to date and are increasingly being phased out, you should now rely on modern communication solutions such as VoIP phone systems.
What is VoIP telephony?
VoIP stands for Voice over IP and means telephony via the internet. For this, you can either use landline phones that support this standard (phones with SIP), or other end devices such as computers or smartphones with special software.
These devices, which simulate a landline phone using a software solution, are also called softphones.
The greatest advantage of VoIP telephony is that to make calls you only need an internet connection and an internet-enabled end device. This allows you and your employees to make calls globally and independently, for example when working from home. You do not need a new phone number and can always be reached on the same one – no matter where you currently are.
What does Cloud PBX mean?
There are many different synonyms for a phone system. For example:
PBX (Private Branch Exchange)
PBX (extension system)
PABX (subscriber switching system)
If the phone system is no longer set up on-premises as a physical or virtual appliance, but is available as a cloud service, it is referred to as a Cloud PBX. You then use this with VoIP technology.
Depending on the features, number of devices and users, the costs for Cloud PBX and an IP phone system vary.
In terms of user convenience and features, a modern VoIP phone system offers you many advantages over old systems.
Advantages of a VoIP phone system as a Cloud PBX
With a VoIP phone system via Cloud PBX, you are equipped for the future of digitalisation. You no longer need a telephone connection with a dedicated line to make calls, but only an internet connection.
Furthermore, you do without additional local hardware, as you can simply fall back on existing computers, tablets or smartphones for VoIP telephony.
In addition, there are no extra maintenance costs for a VoIP system, which also saves you money and time. The provider is responsible for providing new updates.
Because you and your employees can make calls with any internet-enabled end device and can be reached via your company phone number, you increase your flexibility with a VoIP phone system.
An additional benefit of Cloud PBX and Voice over IP phone systems is the reliability of almost 100%. Thanks to the distribution of systems across different data centres, high stability is guaranteed in the cloud. Also, causes of problems can be identified more quickly than with conventional phone systems.
